WHAT I WORE : GIDDY UP ROOSTER!

Giddy up Rooster! Oh wait a sec, that should be a pony, because why am I riding a rooster you may be asking yourself. Why not! I was helping a best friend with a little cat sitting while she travels the globe and decided to take advantage of her amazing porch and decor for my ootd (aka outfit of the day) photos. It's not everyday you come across someone owning a concrete playground sculpture so I just had to take it for a ride. An a new fresh hair color for the week ahead. Happy humpday!

COMIC INSPIRED SWIMSUITS

So with vacation next week, an the beach on the brain, I have been looking into swimsuits. I came across these comic inspired suits over on Front Row Shop and just love them! There's no hiding that I'm a little geeky, and honestly could see myself in any of these. I especially love the one about, something about the colors and later type treatment draw me to it. Though I'll probably settle with a less busy printed suit it's still fun styles are out there. What's your suit look like? Happy weekend!

BOOKS : PARDON ME BY DANIEL MIYARES

I graduated college a number of years ago with many talented artist, and Daniel Miyares was amongst them. He recently released this picture book, Pardon Me, whereby you can read along and find out how this cute little yellow bird wants nothing more than some peace and quiet but keeps being interrupted by guests. His beautifully illustrated book is now currently available thru Simon & Schuster publishing here an my kids really seemed to enjoy it. TRAVEL

We've been gearing up for the past year in anticipation of next week when the kids and I will travel home to visit with family for the month. The kids get to spend the next 4 weeks traveling the North East and seeing cousins, close family and friends. I'm so excited about this trip for them, sad that they won't be with me for a few weeks, but excited non the less for them to have a real Summer break, one that involves their grandparents, the beaches, exploring outdoors, and a change of scenery from their everyday life. I know they will have a great time and I know I'm equally excited to stay with them for a bit and play at the beach too.

MUSEUM AT PRAIRIEFIRE

So on Friday we visited the Museum at Prairiefire. It's a newly opened building down south of us and has a bit of dino history and fossils located there. The overall stain glass construction of this building is beyond amazing and made the trip there worth it. An though it just opened, an the museum is still in the early staged of modeling an some construction, it had a fun learn an explore area for the kiddos which they seemed to really enjoy. If you're locally in KC it's worth visiting. Just a couple snapshots from that day. Happy Monday!

Self love… So do you love yourself?

I'll admit it, I struggle with this… I love my kids, my family, my friends, my boyfriend, an others in my life. I put everyone before me. I work hard to make sure their happiness and well being is my top priority. I've always been like this. I've always overlooked myself as a person to love and care for. Why? Maybe because I had this grand idea that someone else would do it for me, but who? Sadly no one but me... So with the hustle of everyday life at hand, with in mind of all that it will continue to be tossed our way, I've doodled this visual reminder so hopefully I will take time and try not forget to love me. And you out there, "Don't forget to love yourself" too. Happy Tuesday dear friends.

WHAT I WORE : BLACK, WHITE & AQUA

With Summer well under way it's hotter than hot here in Kansas City. An though this outfit was a bit warmer than I had hoped for to wear out in the humidity, none the less I still loved the combination of black, white and aqua. I love aqua and I try not to over do it, but probably could wear it daily. Is there a color that you love or go to often to wear? ARTIST : VIKTOR MILLER-GAUSA

Russian illustrator Viktor Miller-Gausa was told by a friend that he couldn't create a caricature. Not only did he create one, he decided to challenge himself to drawing 31 days of portraits of his favorite celebrities & friends. The overall collection is quite impressive.
