WHERE'S THERE 13 : THE KUCHLBAUER TOWER
.
How amazing is this!?! Wow!!! At first glance it looks a bit to me like it came right out of a Seuss book, but this observation tower (an museum) is actually real. The Kuchlbauer Tower was designed by Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser an is located on the grounds of the Kuchlbauer Brewery in Abensberg, Germany. How cool would it be to climb this high tower and look upon the city below, what a sight I would imagine that would be. I guess there’s another for the bucket list. Happy mid week!

TRENDING TUESDAYS // PLANTERS
.
I had never been a person with a green thumb but slowly over the years I have acquired one. I have to give full credit to my other half, because he was the one who inspired me to own more plants and helped me perfect the art of taking care of them… aka reminding me to water them, make sure they had sun or shade an giving them extra love when needed. Don’t tell him, but I still kill our plants from time to time but now it’s few an far between. Needless though, todays Trending Tuesdays are a few cool planters I’ve spotted out there an love. Our home is filled with many unique plants and planters. From simple plain pots to a plastic dinosaur who’s back was cut out and is housing a little succulent on our kitchen sink. Planters add a little something special (an a little extra green) to our home and are surely fun to admire. Do you have a planter collecting problem too? Come join the club, I think we're around 43 plants last time I counted ;)

MUSIC : HALSEY
.
Loving the music of American singer an songwriter, Halsey. The video I'm sharing below is a bit peculiar, somewhat of sci-fi movie like preview, but needless her tunes are some of my new favorite. Check out more of her work (songs Castle and Hurricane are great too!) on her personal site or pop on over thru the video below to hear more.
Enjoy!

QUOTES : BE YOU, DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF
.
It’s hard not to compare yourself to others, I’m sure we all do it from time to time. We see something someone has and we want it, be it success in one area or another. Maybe a physical item you’ve been longing for an can’t acquire. Or maybe you think someone has that perfect life you want. To compare yourself only makes you more frustrated, an in the end you're only hurting yourself. Over the years I’ve learned a lot about myself and how to let some things go which surely has made me happier in the end.
Confession - There was a time I was envious of other artist. I think it’s in our nature to wish we were better or more successful. I know I had. Maybe we don't see it in ourselves and need assurance it’s actually there. Over the years I’ve learned to appreciate my own art, what I have, what I can create, how my art make me feel. I've learned not dwell on what I can’t do, because let's be honest, there is a lot I can’t do, but I’m ok with that. It’s a complicated concept to grasp for sure, but your talents are what makes you, you. It took me years to realize this an I wish I had understood it sooner. I will never paint abstract like Picasso or completely digital an realistic like Autumn Whitehurst (look her up, she’s amazing!) but I will create like me, an be happy with my work.
There are many quotes out there around this subject, but a few I've really enjoyed, I’m sharing here today. I hope you find them inspirational too. If there’s another quote you'd like to share in the comments below I’d love to hear it. Best!

RIP DAVID BOWIE
.
It’s the end of an era when a name like Bowie comes to pass. I’m sure you’ve seen it thru all the media but what an amazing legend he was, and will continue to be. His music, acting, fashion sense, personality, an view on life were just a few things that were an inspiration to me. I recall the first time I was introduced to him was as a child as I watched the movie Labryrinth with some friends. I remember instantly thinking how awesome was this person! It wasn’t until a few years later I started listening to his music and truly appreciating his talents. He was a man of many hat and each decade he continued to impress people. I also love that it never seemed to bother him what others thought. What a great way to live your life. His alter ego Ziggy Stardust was an example of this, which I wanted to illustrated to pay tribute to such an idol. You will be missed David Bowie but never forgotten.

TRENDING TUESDAYS : WALL HANGING WEAVINGS
.
I have been feeling inspired a lot by wall hanging woven pieces, like some of these images I've shared above. I have yet to try my hand at making one, but I'm sure if I did, I would find a new hobby to consume myself with. I would imagine it's slightly therapeutic, like how I find hand sewing to be. Do you weave? Would you care to share a link below to your own personal work? Happy Trending Tuesdays! :)

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION // DAILY DOODLE
.
One of my New Years resolutions for 2016 is to continue my efforts to "Doodle Daily". My daytime job is that of a card designer, whereby I spend my days creating on the computer digitally, but my personal resolution is more about exploration as an illustrator. It’s all about me forcing myself to work more traditionally on paper, be it in pencil, pen an ink, water colors or other mixed media, I am continuing to try my hand (literally) at doodling daily. It’s about creating something I’m proud of, feeling inspired and inspiring others, an learning new techniques, tips and tricks, an continuing to grow as an overall artist along the way. If you follow me on IG you will notice that I hashtag my artwork #sandidoodles where you can peek thru past works I have shared. I won’t be sharing everything I sketch up daily over here on the blog, just a few favorites from time to time, plus my freebie monthly calendar you can download here.
If you'd care to share, what is one of your new years resolutions? Are you creative - maybe you're also doodling, taking photography, sewing, or making something else creatively that you love? I’d love to hear about it! Please feel free to link in the comments below. Happy Monday!
